A short
history
From the small village of Roscigno, in the Province of Salerno, and the Region
of Campania, Italy, the origins of the Tierno's
pizza were started. When Angela Tierno married Benedetto Resciniti
in 1886, she brought with her centuries old recipes for dough,
sauce, and other Italian fare. These were passed along the
family for decades, until the day Tomasso Resciniti Demont
and his son Todd, along with Todd's wife Joelle, decided it
was time to put the "Italian"
back in pizza by opening their own pizzeria in Plum to bring
these wonderful Italian recipes to the general public.
We feel too
many pizza chains have lost that family-style cooking and
pricing, and we'd like to bring it back and for you to compare
what we offer in pricing, quality and quantity to any other
pizza shops. It's hard these days to bring a family out to
eat and maybe a movie without spending a small fortune, and we
at Tierno's try to alleviate that by offering family-style
cooking, in a comfortable, family oriented eatery at affordable
prices. As you can see
by our menu, we offer not just pizza, but also hoagies, wings,
salads, calzones, and stromboli. All of our dough and sauce
is made fresh daily, and all of our food is made with the freshest
ingredients bought by local vendors. In the
coming year, we will be adding
pasta, soup, and at least 14 new specialty pizzas.
So we'd like to invite you, as our guests, to come down to our house, kick back
and relax while enjoying some of the finest Italian fare in
the Pittsburgh area. If you can't make it down, we'll be happy
to deliver it to your house as quickly as possible. We hope
to see you soon.
